 Bill Little, one of the most respected peopl in college sports information, began his writing career as a cub reporter for the San Angelo Standard Times and the Abilene Reporter News.

After serving as sports editor for the Daily Texan while attending The University of Texas, the Winters, Texas native worked tow years as a sports writer for the Austin American-Statesman and two with The Associated Press in Oklahoma City. Littl joined the Longhorn athletics staff as assistant sports information director in 1968. In 1983 he was named Men's Athletics Sports Information Director and became and Assistant Athletics Director in 1995.

He is author of Stadium Stories - Texas Longhorns and is co-author of Kings of the Diamond - A History of Texas Longhorn Baseball. He wrote the script of the award-winning video documentary "The Story of Darrell Royal" and has recently written Hoop Tales - Texas Longhorns. He also writes a weekly sports commentary for the UT website.

During forty years of service to the University, he has received numerous awards for writing, including the Fred Stabley National Award for Writing Excellence. Little is a member of the CoSIDA Hall of Fame, and in 1998 he received that organization's highest award, the Arch Ward Award for excellence in the profession and contributions to college athletics. He was inducted into the Longhorn Hall of Honor in 1993 and has recently been inducted into the Big Country Sports Hall of Fame in Abilene.

Bill is married to Kim Scofield. Their family includes sons Bobby and David Little and their wives Michele and Amy, daughter Elle Scofield Fawns and her husband Brian, and seven grandchildren.
