| Lifelong educator C.H. Underwood first played six-man football while a student at O'Brien (Texas) High School, where in 1962 his team was the undefeated regional champion. After graduating from Midwestern State University, he returned to teach and to coach six-man at O'Brien, and in 1972 he led the Bulldogs to the first-ever Texas Six-Man State Championship.
