At Doubleday, she also handled the lists of Issac Asimov and Paul West, conceptualized The New York Times bestseller The Southern Belle Handbook: Why Princess Margaret Will Never Be a Kappa Kappa Gamma by Marilyn Schwartz, and wrote The Petting Zoo, with "Jungle Jack" Hanna. In addition, she worked as a book designer, a literary agent, and a bookstore clerk. Returning home to Houston, she taught English at St. John's School, taught Early Childhood classes and worked as a free-lance writer and editor for individuals and organizations including M. D. Bright Sky's editorial capabilities range from conceptualizing to providing a writer, and from structural edits to copy edits and final proofs. In addition, Lucy is responsible for the Press's copywriting needs, assuring that all communications, from distributor forms to marketing copy for catalogs and collateral pieces, accurately reflect the project.
