Penelope S. Duffy was born in Wuchang, China, in 1948 and returned to the United States with her family in 1949. She has lived in the U.S. and Canada and holds a Ph.D. in communication disorders. Under the name Penelope S. Myers, she has conducted research and published extensively on neurologic communication disorders in adults. She does freelance science writing for the Mayo Clinic and has published stories, poems and essays under the name Penelope S. Duffy. She lives in Rochester, Minnesota with her husband, Joe, and their West Highland White Terrier, Atticus.
