Bebe McCasland is a feisty avian champion who eloquently and empathetically articulates the stories her birds have to tell in her column in the Big Spring, Texas Herald and in her new book by the same name, Bird Poop. For bird watchers or anyone who loves nature but has thus far simply let birds fly right over, Bird Poop brings the inter-connectedness of all species brilliantly and movingly to life. A former schoolteacher and school administrator, she has rescued and rehabilitated birds for 35 years. She is undauntedly devoted to helping birds—a West Texas cross between Dr. Doolittle and James Herriott. Bebe's goal in her column and her book is to tell each birds' story, and let birds help birds.
Bebe is donating all of her profits from Bird Poop to wild bird rescue efforts..."birds helping birds," as she explains it.
