Put on your boots and chaps and rustle up your little cowboys and cowgirls to the latest treat from renowned children's author and artist, Roxie Munro. In Ranch, Munro uses rich detailings and spatial art to depict life on a western cattle ranch. With breathtaking watercolors that are reminiscent of the postcards from the 1930s, Munro once again delights her early readers with a combination of visual and mental fun. Through finding and counting games, Ranch presents vignettes of a working cattle operation, with scenes including the corral, bunkhouse, cook shack, office and open range, among others. Little cowpokes will love the hours spent spying out strange Texas critters such as javelinas, armadillos, roadrunners, and horned toads, while learning to count and recognize the vocabulary of a real ranch. Each double-page spread is filled with Munro's lavish and imaginative drawings, culminating in a tremendous bird's eye view of all the elements as one final ranch. Keys to the finding and counting games are included.
